Here's a quick guide on how to get here & what to expect when you arrive, with some frequently asked questions down below.
Weekly worship services are every Sunday morning at 11. We look forward to seeing you either in-person or online!
We’re in Baltimore’s Federal Hill neighborhood, two short blocks south of the Maryland Science Center & a block west of Federal Hill Park, at 809 Light Street. See a simple map or use Google Maps.
On-street parking is available in our neighborhood, often on either side of Montgomery Street. If you have trouble, pull-up out front & come inside to ask for help: we have temporary parking permits available.
If you have any questions or issues (or even if you don't), please email us. You'll actually be emailing me -- the person writing these very words. Say hello!
We gather together in worship each Sunday at 11am. Coffee’s on at 10:45am. Come on down!
After service, we gather for food & conversation in our Fellowship Hall. We share Communion & a potluck meal after worship on the first Sunday of every month.
You can also participate virtually at 11am each Sunday via Zoom or on our Facebook page.
Weekly worship is an opportunity for us to bring the fullness of who we are into the presence of God. Our service is casual and welcoming to all, regardless of where you are on your faith journey. We value authenticity and participation over excellence.
Our congregation is a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA), which means you’ll experience the traditional liturgical elements of the Reformed tradition,
We leaven out liturgy with elements that make Light Street Church stand apart, including folk music, Gospel songs, & storytelling.
Like Anne Lamott, we believe that laughter is “carbonated holiness.” We try not to take ourselves too seriously.
Each week, you’ll hear a sermon that is rooted in Scripture and critically engaged with the world. You’ll hear honest prayer requests and (occasionally off-key) singing. You’ll see a community of people who might never have gathered in the same space were it not for the gracious love of God.
