Why is it we still live in a culture that reveres the very idea of the Bible, but knows so little about what’s actually in it?
There are experiences in this life that change us. I suppose some episodes of joy do that, but I think more often than not it’s experiences of pain that mark us for life, that determine the course of all our days to come.
In the eyes of God...human divisions have no more actual, street-level reality than dotted lines on a map....At the end of the day, it’s only love that matters.
When love truly is set free in this world, there’s no end to the wonders it can accomplish.
He came from nothing. He conquered everything. And he lives to serve us — so we may learn to serve others.
The waters of baptism...are a potent symbol of the all-inclusive, radically welcoming love of God. Through that love, human-constructed barriers come tumbling down.
In a place of total darkness...the only way to “see” is by touch. In this dark world of ours, the touch that matters most is the touch of the Risen Lord.
